People interested in standing as a candidate in October’s local body elections are being reminded to not leave it too late and to submit their nomination forms well before the deadline of midday Friday 1 August.

The collection of kerbside recycling in and around the Bay of Islands will end on Thursday 31 July, the company responsible for the service has confirmed. The council does not and has never run kerbside collections for either rubbish or recycling.
