VIDEO – We're going on a holiday: a community adaptation planning story
Summer is upon us and that got us thinking about how planning for a happy holiday is a bit like planning for a thriving future when our climate is changing.
There is no way that we can know everything that will happen on our beach holiday (or in the future). We plan so that we can have a good holiday, no matter how much uncertainty Northland summers may bring.
In climate adaptation planning, we anticipate future impacts, decide what matters most, and then make plans that are flexible and responsive to change to safeguard what matters most in the future.
In part two of our three-part series about Te Hōtaka Urutau Hapori - The Community Adaptation Programme, this video breaks down adaptation planning and the key ways in which we respond – summer-holiday style!
