Northland’s district councils have each heard feedback from their communities on the future of water services delivery, and established a cross-council working group to work through what collaboration across councils could look like.

Far North District Council has confirmed it is moving ahead with the installation of fluoride systems in its Kerikeri and Kaitāia water supplies following final design approval and funding support from Manatū Hauora (Ministry of Health).
The Bay of Islands isite at Paihia – one of the busiest Visitor Information Centres in the country – will be getting a much-needed refurbishment starting on Thursday 3 July.
Pukepoto Road in Kaitāia will be reduced to one lane for the next three weeks while major sewer works get underway. Vehicles will need to detour via Matthews Avenue during this time and all heavy traffic is asked to avoid the area.
Paranui Road near Taipa will be closed for essential slip repair work for two weeks from Monday 23 June to Friday 4 July, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain safe and reliable roads.

Russell, Paihia and Waitangi are set to feature as locations in a film by Lippy Pictures, which is bringing a 70-strong crew to the Bay of Islands for three weeks in June and July.
