We maintain a range of facilities for Far North residents and visitors, including playgrounds, sports fields, swimming pools, walkways and reserves. We also own and maintain toilets, wharves and pontoons, cemeteries, libraries, community halls and housing for the elderly.

VIDEO - New way of engaging embraces everyone

Te Pae o Uta – Te Ao Māori framework is a ground-breaking concept that gives council staff and contractors guidelines for improving inclusivity and responsiveness of Te Ao Māori in all aspects of work undertaken by Far North District Council. In this video, Mayor Moko Tepania, council staff members and associates describe how they use the framework in their day-to-day duties to foster positive engagement with all communities.
