Sports, fun, and community at the heart of Simson Park

Simson Park Domain in Moerewa is where our community gathers to play, cheer, and celebrate. It’s a place for connection and belonging, where whānau spend time together and manaakitanga shines through.

The final draft of the Simson Park Domain Reserve Management Plan is now open for feedback. We’re asking for your thoughts to help make sure the plan reflects what matters now and for future generations.

The council is also proposing to formally classify a small area of reserve land on Leaity Street, next to Simson Park Hall, as a Recreation Reserve. This change would officially recognise how the space is already used as part of Simson Park.

Here’s what we are proposing / Anei tā mātou e whakatakoto nei

1          Simson Park Domain Reserve Management Plan
  • Four full-sized winter sports fields and an upgraded multi-purpose court area.
  • Marked space for shared clubrooms with public toilets and changing rooms.
  • Enhanced informal recreation spaces with seating, paths, trees, and family-friendly features.
  • A softball diamond with movable fencing.
2          Classification of land parcels next to Simson Park Hall
  • Formally classify lot 35 DP 51470 as a Recreation Reserve.
  • The left and right grass areas (land parcels) in front of Simson Park Hall, as shown below, be reclassified from Local Purpose (carpark) reserve to Recreation Reserve and be incorporated into the Simpson Park Domain.
