Notice of Temporary Road Closures
Pursuant to the local Government Act 1974, the Far North District Council hereby gives notice of its intention to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic from the dates and during the hours stated for the purpose of facilitating safe event operations during the following Parades:
Te Taenga Mai O Hokule’a – Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November 2025
Road Closed and Time of Closure:
- Te Karuwhā Parade (from junction of Puketona Road to Te Kemara Avenue) 12:00pm Friday to 06:00pm Saturday
Kerikeri Half Marathon – Saturday 22nd November 2025
Roads Closed and Time of Closure:
- Waiare Rd from SH1 intersection to its intersection with Wehirua Rd – 05:30am-8:45am.
- Wehirua Rd from SH1 intersection to its intersection with Waiare Rd – 06:50am-8:45am.
- Waiare Rd from Wehirua Rd intersection to its intersection with Wiroa Rd – 06:50am-9:30am.
- Wiroa Rd from Waiare intersection to its intersection with Ladore Rd – 06:50am-10:30am.
- Wiroa Rd from Ladore Rd intersection to intersection with Waimate North Rd – 06:50am-11:00am
- Wiroa Rd from Waimate North Rd intersection to intersection with State Highway 10 (eastbound traffic only from the Kerikeri Roundabout- see back page for how to access the airport)- 6:50am- 11.15am
Paihia Christmas Parade – Friday 5th December 2025
Road Closed and Time of Closure:
- 25 Williams Road to 37 Williams Road – 3:00PM to 7:00PM.
Northland Car Club Inc Car Sprints – Sunday 7th December 2025
Road Closed and Time of Closure:
- Waiare Road, Okaihau (from intersection of SH1 to intersection of Wehirua Road) – 08:00am – 5:00pm
Kaikohe Christmas Parade – Saturday 29th November 2025
Road Closed and Time of Closure:
- Broadway (from Mangakahia Road to Ngapua Place) 10:00am to 11:00am
During the proposed period of closure, alternative provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic which would otherwise use the road.
Any persons wishing to submit on or object to the proposal are invited to do so from the date of publication of this notice. Submissions may be delivered to any Council office; or posted to Private Bag 752, Kaikohe 0440; or faxed to (09) 401 2137; or e-mailed to ask.us@fndc.govt.nz. Submissions should include your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address as appropriate.
