More than 5000 people are expected to head to Doubtless Bay this weekend to enjoy the annual Mangōnui Waterfront Festival.

Waterfront Drive will be closed from 9am to 7.30pm on Saturday (2 March) between Tasman Street and the wharf at Beach Road. Public parking is available at the Mangōnui School grounds.

A free shuttle service is available from Taipā, Cable Bay, and Coopers Beach, operated by Far North Link, with the first bus leaving Taipā at noon and the last bus leaving from Mangōnui wharf at 6pm. More details are available on the Mangōnui Waterfront Festival Facebook page.

The event, now in its 11th year, is a platform for local businesses to sell their products, with the family-friendly atmosphere a perfect opportunity for people from across the Far North and beyond to enjoy the best the historic town has to offer.

Food, music, and arts will be showcased, with stalls lining Waterfront Drive offering wine, international cuisine, bromeliads, honey, nail painting and garden art, as well as the chance to take part in a tug-o-war contest, tennis, paddle-boarding, and sailing.

The event runs from 12pm to 6pm with a $10 entry fee. More information about the festival is available here.
