Kaikohe Service Centre on the move
Residents and visitors will soon be able to access council services and library facilities under one roof when Far North District Council’s Kaikohe customer service centre moves into the new Kaikohe Library and Civic Hub next month.
The service centre is relocating from the council’s Memorial Drive headquarters to the new community facility on the corner of Broadway and Raihara Street following the library and hub’s official opening on Monday 9 November.
Whether you need to pay rates, register your dog, request property information, report a problem or get help with a council inquiry, bringing the council services and library together will make it easier to get things done in one convenient location.
The move around the corner places the council’s customer services in a more spacious, central, welcoming space and offers a focal point for information, services and activities.
Work is underway behind the scenes to ensure the move is as seamless as possible and minimises disruption for customers.
The Memorial Drive service centre will remain open until 5pm on Monday 9 November. The following day, any customers looking for face-to-face council services in Kaikohe, such as paying for dog registration or rates, should head to the Kaikohe Library and Civic Hub. Once you’ve been helped by our friendly customer services team, you can check out the exciting new library and community facilities on offer.
While customer-facing service centre functions will no longer be available at the Memorial Drive headquarters from Tuesday 10 November, other council staff will remain based in these offices.
If you would like to be a part of the opening day celebrations on Monday 9 November, just RSVP here. To find out more about the Kaikohe Library and Civic Hub project, head to our website and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
