Parking upgraded at popular Cable Bay

Work to upgrade three carparks at a popular Doubtless Bay beachfront community is now complete.

Work on a layover carpark on the Cable Bay beachfront (opposite the dairy) included sealing a gravel parking area and installing concrete kerbs to prevent vehicles parking on the grass verge. Meanwhile, the northern car park (opposite Stratford Drive) has been resealed and provides a large area suitable for campervans. Finally, the carpark outside the Cable Bay public toilets has been sealed and line marked, with accessible parking provided.

The $476,000 carpark upgrade was co-funded by the council and the Government’s Tourism Infrastructure Fund. You can read more about the Tourism Infrastructure Fund here.
