Lines work to close Russell walkway

04 November 2022

A popular walkway that links Chapel Street to Oneroa Road in Russell will be temporarily closed on Monday 7 November between 9am and 2.30pm.

Top Energy has informed the council that a tree is touching powerlines above the thoroughfare, locally known as Zig Zag Walkway, and that it will be closed to the public while it undertakes preventative maintenance.

This work will be weather dependent and may be deferred if necessary.
