The purpose of the Parks and Reserves Bylaw is ensure fair and appropriate use of parks and reserves in the Far North. We would like your feedback on a proposed new Parks and Reserves Bylaw.

The Far North is home to a range of unique landscapes, species and habitats, many of which are under threat. Council is required to identify and protect these habitats through a District Plan.

We are reviewing the way we protect heritage in the Far North as part of the District Plan review. Are we protecting the right things? Do we need to revise the areas? Tell us what you think.

The Proposed District Plan will be notified on Wednesday 27 July, 2022. This opens a formal submission period that runs for 60 working days.

The Long Term Plan (LTP) is the Council's key strategic planning document. It sets out what the Council plans to do over the next 10 years and how it plans to pay for this.

Speed limits in the Okaihau-Kaeo-Waimate area, and variable speed limits outside Springbank School and Te Rangi Aniwaniwa School, Kaitaia are adopted.

The Draft District Plan was released for feedback in March 2021. It has now being notified under the RMA as the Proposed District Plan.
