Te Ao Māori

Welcome to the council’s Te Ao Māori pages, where you can find out who we are and what we do delivering services to our Māori communities in the Far North. Our liaison team, Te Hono, can advise you on many issues that are important to Māori.

  • Development on Māori land

    Information here includes papakāinga development, building on Māori land and rating Māori freehold land.
  • Te Pae o Uta

    Te Pae o Uta gives council staff guidelines for improving inclusivity and responsiveness of Te Ao Māori in all aspects of council work.
  • Memorandums of Understanding (MoU)

    The council has a number of MoU signed with iwi and hapū. All signed agreements can be found here.
  • Partnerships with council
